ABOUT US

The stigmas that latch onto people who struggle with mental health need to be broken, which is why Jason Rabotnick founded Everything MH (2020). He used his medical background and personal experiences with mental health to join teams with Slow-Motion Magic (a nonprofit dedicated to spreading awareness of Parkinson's Disease and raising funds for Parkinson's related research).

We are writing about our experiences and publishing submissions by others with similar and varying issues because we believe we can spread awareness of all aspects related to the cause, spark conversations that normalize the issue and topic at hand, and end the stigmas.

OUR

MISSION

All over the world people who struggle with mental health are being judged, rebuked, and rejected; universally being labeled as having a lack of character, weak, sinful, or a "red flag". We firmly believe that everyone is inherently entitled to love, happiness, and belonging, which is why we are aiming to spread one truth: this is one aspect of a person's life and NOT THEIR IDENTIFIER.

Our goal is simple: to break the stigmas.

ARTICLES

One of the first things to know about mental health is you may never compare one person's struggle to another individual's. Meaning, the provided stories are all written by individuals regarding their own experiences, and their words may give insight to another person's trouble, but should not be used to restrict or contradict what another person is going through. This is a safe space for anyone to express what they have gone / are going through.

This is meant to educate those who do not have these issues and give clarity and belonging to those who may.

If there is a mental health issue not listed, or you'd like to submit your own thoughts/advice/experiences, please contact us so this page can be updated!

In an Emergency

When Should I Call 9-1-1 for My Loved One?

If their behavior seems dangerously reckless (harmful to themselves or someone else).

If their personality has been majorly different lately and you have reason for concern (talk to them first if possible and you are comfortable to do so).

If they tend to be very negative and the are suddenly optimistic/worriless (this often implies the person has made a suicidal plan and feels relief).

If they tell you they don’t trust themselves and need immediate help (driving them to the emergency room without the assistance of 9-1-1 may be preferred if it's safe to do so).

When Should I Go to the Emergency Department or Call 9-1-1?

If you feel like your mental condition is a threat to your own well-being or someone else’s.

If you feel like you have suicidal ideations/plans.

If you do not trust yourself to refrain from doing something reckless and dangerous.

If you don’t trust yourself to be alone and feel your social peers/family is not sufficient to cope.

If life circumstances and/or feelings become scaringly overwhelming and you are at risk of harm.

If you need help, but you’re a dependent (child, sickly, or elderly) and being neglected by your parent/guardian.

FOR EMERGENCIES: 9-1-1

SUICIDE HOTLINE: America: 800-273-8255

--- There is nothing wrong with calling 9-1-1 and speaking with suicide hotline while you wait for help to arrive ---

PLEASE NOTE MEETING SHORT OF THESE CRITERIA DOES NOT MEAN EMERGENCY AND/OR PSYCHIATRIC HELP IS NOT NEEDED

This information is recommended, but not coming directly from a legal/medical source.

Please call 9-1-1 or a local emergency department if you're experiencing uncertainty in how to proceed with your emotional struggle.
